Was in the Brewster area for a week and stopped into Kate's seafood & ice cream. We had the fish Rueben sandwich on marbled rye with amazing onion rings. Picked a quart of the creamy clam chowder and a quart of the lobster bisque. Both pretty tasty but wished that put a bit more lobster in there since it was pretty shredded up and hard too see. Good service and nice outdoor area if you want to bring your leashes pooches.
The atmosphere, service & food is exactly what you hope & aim for while on the Cape. There's a good amount of fried seafood selections that you can't go wrong with & its delicious They have plenty of shady picnic tables for those on the road going from point A to point B & need a break.
Very much open!!! Had scallops and onion rings for lunch and they were amazing. I have eaten Liam and Kate's food for decades so was nervous about a change in ownership. The new owners knocked it out of the park - as delicious as always!!!!
Amazing utterly fresh fried fish combo containing shrimp,cod,scallops,calamari all fried to perfection accompanied with clam fritters; and save room for the vast selection of ice cream in all varieties. Stop at this gem you won't be disappointed!!!
A group of us enjoyed lunch today. Service was flawless and the food, amazing. I love fish sandwiches and Kate's version is wonderful. The setting is perfect for outside dining. There are places you go that feel like home. Kate's is one of them with a welcoming vibe and tasty food.
Was back at Kate's for the 2nd time this summer. We have been going there almost every summer for the past 15 years or so. As usual, the food is quite good - of course it is almost all fried, except the lobster roll. We had a lobster roll and scallop plate. Both were very good, and very fresh. Prices are in line with other clam shacks nearby, but not a bargain. Clam fritters are great, fries are so-so. We also like the ice cream/frozen yogurt - I actually prefer it to Sunday School.
The clam strips were fantastic, Cape Cod Reuben was good. Food is hot and fresh! They take phone orders when it's not too busy at the physical location.
